First visit and periodic check-up
During a first visit, we carefully map your oral situation. We look at your teeth, gums and any points of attention and discuss your wishes and expectations. In principle, we do not perform any treatment during this first visit. This allows us to calmly assess what you need and create a suitable plan together.
If you have urgent complaints, such as pain or inflammation, we will of course see what is needed to resolve this as quickly as possible.
For more extensive treatments, we take the time to discuss the various options with you, including advantages and disadvantages, so that you can make a well-considered choice.
During the periodic check-ups, we monitor your oral health and adjust the care plan where necessary.
Teeth cleaning and periodontal care
Good oral hygiene is essential to prevent gum problems. Our dental hygienists and (paro-)prevention assistants help you with professional teeth cleaning, removing tartar and personal instructions for at home. In the case of gum inflammation or periodontitis, we carefully guide you with a suitable treatment and prevention plan and, where necessary, a parotrajectory.
Preventive treatments
Sometimes extra preventive measures are useful, such as sealing molars to prevent cavities. This mainly happens with children, but can also be applied to adults. Together we look at what is wise in your situation.
Children and prevention – Gewoon Gaaf
Good oral care starts at a young age. For children, we work according to the prevention program Gewoon Gaaf. This is a national method that guides children and parents in healthy brushing behavior, nutrition and oral care.
Within Gewoon Gaaf we pay a lot of attention to:
- Brushing instructions and guidance
- Nutrition and habits
- Preventing cavities
- Trust and pleasure in oral care
While dental education in schools is decreasing, we believe it’s important to support children and parents personally. For us, ‘Gewoon Gaaf’ isn’t just a one-off treatment, but a way of working that grows with your child, from their very first tooth through to adulthood.
More information about this method can be found at www.gewoon-gaaf.nl.
Working together for a healthy mouth
Prevention is a collaboration. We guide and advise, you apply this in daily life. This is how we work together to ensure a healthy mouth, now and in the future.
