Team concept
At Tandartsen Weeshuis, we work according to the team concept. This means that you are not only helped by the dentist, but by a close-knit team of dentists, dental hygienists, paro-prevention assistants, prevention assistants and dental assistants who work closely together.
Within this team, everyone has their own expertise and responsibility. Many parts of the check-up and treatment are performed by qualified and well-trained team members, such as the preventive part of the care, oral hygiene, guidance and preparatory actions. The dentist always keeps an overview and is responsible for the final check and the treatment plan.
This way of working allows us to help you carefully and personally, with attention to quality and comfort. In addition, we have more time for explanation and guidance, tailored to your wishes and situation. This way you benefit from the power of teamwork and you can count on high-quality care at every appointment.
Liza van de Rijt
Dentist & practice owner
Liza van de Rijt is a dentist who has been working at the practice since 2017 and has been the practice owner of Tandartsen Weeshuis since January 1, 2020.
She works with great attention to the patient and believes it is important that care is provided carefully, understandably, and in consultation.
She studied dentistry at ACTA and obtained her PhD in the field of orofacial pain. In addition, Liza is a dentist-gnathologist and works at Gnathologie Nijmegen.
She is also an accredited dental sleep medicine specialist.
Within the practice, Liza focuses on general dentistry, gnathology, and sleep-related issues. She also has an affinity for implantology, orthodontics, and the treatment of dental wear.
Together with the team, she strives for sustainable, personal oral care for every patient.

With an eye for detail and attention to the person behind the patient, quality and prevention are always central. Her calm approach quickly puts patients at ease.
In addition to her work in the practice, Marieke is actively involved in supervising and coaching students from the Dental Hygiene program. She shares her knowledge and practical experience with enthusiasm and patience, stimulating the professional development of future dental hygienists.
She is a member of the Dutch Association of Dental Hygienists (NVM) and is registered in the Quality Register for Dental Hygienists (KRM).

Dental Hygienist
Nina Rougoor is a dental hygienist and has been working at Tandartsen Weeshuis since 2018. She focuses on gum treatments and preventive care, with the goal of maintaining and improving a healthy mouth.

Ingrid Brandwijk has been working at Tandartsen Weeshuis for more than 25 years, making her a steady and trusted presence within the team. As a prevention assistant, she supports the dentists during treatments and performs various preventive tasks, such as dental cleaning, taking impressions, X-rays, and providing oral hygiene instructions.
With her experience, commitment, and knowledge of the practice, Ingrid contributes daily to accessible and personal oral care for our patients.

Hanneke Houtzager
Prevention Assistant
Hanneke Houtzager has been working at Tandartsen Weeshuis since 2001. She is not only a prevention assistant but also a familiar face at the front desk and is responsible for various administrative tasks.
Due to her versatility and extensive knowledge of the practice, Hanneke is a key figure within the team. With her committed and organized way of working, she ensures that both patients and colleagues can count on her.

Maureen Croqué
Paro-prevention assistant
Maureen Croqué has been working at Tandartsen Weeshuis as a perio-prevention assistant since 2020. She trained as a dental assistant and has further specialized in preventive and periodontal care, orthodontics, and administering local anesthesia.
You will see Maureen both during treatments supporting the dentist and during appointments for preventive and periodontal care, such as tartar removal and guidance during orthodontic treatments. With her versatility and committed way of working, she makes a valuable contribution to the team and to your oral health.

Marit Geurts
Prevention Assistant
Marit Geurts has been working at Tandartsen Weeshuis since 2024. She started as a dental assistant and obtained her prevention assistant diploma in 2025.

Lotte Diepeveen
Dental assistant
Lotte Diepeveen works at Tandartsen Weeshuis as a dental assistant and has a versatile role within the practice. She provides support during treatments, is often the first point of contact at the front desk, and handles administrative and HR tasks.

Alejandra Vargas
Trainee dental assistant
Alejandra Vargas is following the BBL (work-study) program to become a dental assistant at Tandartsen Weeshuis. She works in the practice four days a week and attends her training one day a week.
Alejandra is motivated and eager to learn, taking on new tasks with great enthusiasm. From the start, she has shown impressive and rapid development and is visibly growing within the team.
